Treatments For Pelvic Health Conditions Caused By Pregnancy

Pregnancy can cause a range of health conditions related to the pelvic area, including Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), otherwise known as pelvic girdle pain. This causes pain and discomfort due to the misalignment or instability of the pelvic joints.

Other issues include Round Ligament Pain, which occurs when the uterus expands and the round ligaments supporting it become stretched. Symptoms can include a sharp or arching pain in your lower lower abdomen or groin area.

Another common condition we provide treatments for at our clinic is urinary incontinence. Thanks to the pressure exerted on the bladder during pregnancy, many women suffer from a leakage of urine, especially when they cough, sneeze or laugh. This can become deeply distressing and knock our confidence.

PelviCare also regularly helps women struggling with what’s known as Diastasis Recti.

This refers to the separation of the abdominal muscles, particularly in the midline. This condition can result in a visible bulge of the abdomen and may cause back pain or weakness in your core muscles.

Our specialist after-pregnancy physiotherapy treatments are ideal for helping with diastasis recti.

Whatever issues you’re having with your pelvic area, our clinic in Greenwich in London would love to help.
