Why Have A Mummy MOT?
We all know what a vehicle MOT is, so what exactly is a Mummy MOT?
Our physiotherapists offer a wide variety of services including a post-natal assessment recommended for women following both vaginal and caesarean deliveries, known as a Mummy MOT.
This can take place 6 weeks, 8 weeks, or even many years after birth to check that everything is well.
In some countries, this type of review is considered a standard type of treatment for any new mother. Although this isn’t yet the case in the UK, this type of assessment is becoming increasingly popular.
Operating from clinics in Greenwich and Moorgate, PelviCare is ideal for women looking to have this and many other types of treatment. Our services also include antenatal and postnatal physiotherapy treatments, visceral mobilisation, hypopressive exercises, kinesiotaping, scar work and pregnancy massages.
What happens during a Mummy MOT?
Our practitioner will check a number of different factors, including your:
- Posture
- Pelvic floor muscles
- Stomach muscles to see how they’re healing after your baby has arrived.
They can then make recommendations on interventions to speed up your recovery. This is ideal if you are still feeling uncomfortable or experiencing pain.
If you’re looking for private physiotherapists that offer Mummy MOTs, why not find out more about PelviCare today?
